Canalgrande Hotel in Modena is situated in the town center, just a short distance from the Cathedral with its famous Ghirlandina bell-tower, from the Military Academy and from the smartest shops in town. The hotel building dates from the sixteenth century and was originally the convent of the Holy Trinity. It passed into private ownership in 1788 and undergone alterations, then in 1858 it was sold to the family of the Marquis Schedoni.
