Opened in September 2003, the Relais Villa d'Assio hotel is placed in a quiet location in the wonderful and picturesque Rosea's countryside, close to the ruins of a magnificent villa of Quinto Assio from 1st century B.C. The hotel is the result of a meticulous work refurbishing an ancient 19th century village, where original buildings were kept unchanged strictly rediscovering the materials used years ago.
This 4-star hotel has 40 bedrooms and suites. Each room is very well appointed and provided with manually adjustable air conditioning, mini bar, TV, direct dial telephone, safe, and private bathroom with hairdryer. We have got also an air-conditioned restaurant, a lounge bar, conference rooms, a parking lot, splendid parkland, mountain bikes, an outdoor swimming pool (open from May, 30 to September, 30) and solarium. To provide guests with top comfortable and easy-to-use amenities, the hotel has taken particular care in designing every detail of the area. Not far away from the hotel you can find a riding ground, paragliding, sailing and sport fishing facilities.
The Tempe restaurant serves local specialties made of genuine ingredients, the products of this area and the traditionally dishes of this splendid region, in an inventive imaginative way. This place reminds of Cicero's philosophy, who stayed in the Quinto Assio luxurious villa.
The Mount Terminillo and the attractive Piediluco Lake in the background are the main features of those landscapes reaching the wildlife reserve of Lungo and Ripasottile lakes, along with other smaller lakes belonging to the ancient "Lacus Velinus".
Just one hour drive from Rome, and within easy reach of Perugia, Assisi, Todi and Spoleto, the strategic location of this Relais hotel in Rieti's district, known since ancient times as "Umbilicus Italiae" (navel of Italy) makes it a perfect base to explore major art, history and landscape relevant places.
