The hotel occupies a third century building, the "Palazzo dell'Aquila", which formerly belonged to the Della Scala family. It became an inn in 1674 and the Grand Hotel Imperiale in 1882. This is elegant and refined hotel is famous all over the world for the quality of its service, beauty of its furnishings and 17th - 18th century antiques.
The 90 spacious elegant rooms and 8 suites are soundproofed, richly decorated with fabric-covered walls, silk brocade bedspreads and fine antiques. They are all equipped with a rose-colored marble bathrooms with lavish gold fittings, hairdryer, air conditioning, fridge, minibar, satellite TV, radio, fax machine and direct dial telephone. Rooms for non-smokers are also available.
Amenities available to guests include a bar, facilities for the disabled, valet parking service, babysitting service on request, garage nearby and guest laundromat. Each floor has its own reception area and a large common room full of ceramics, sculptures and refined objects of art. The Restaurant "All'Aquila" serves an excellent cuisine with regional specialties and international dishes. The hotel's theatre-style conference center can accommodate 200 guests, while 7 further meeting rooms elegantly and traditionally furnished with fine antiques, are ideal for cocktail parties, private dinners or board meetings.

Location

The hotel is located in the old city center of Verona next the Church Sant'Anastasia and the most important masterpiece of Veronese art. Romeo and Juliet's balcony is only few minutes away. Leave the A4 Milan-Venice autostrada at Verona (south), in the direction of the city center (the Piazza Brŕ) and follow the signs. Leave the A22 Modena-Brenner autostrada at Verona (north) and take the by-pass (tangenziale) in the direction of central Verona until Porta Palio. Continue down the Corso di Porta Palio, the Corso Cavour and the Via D'Emilei until the Piazza Sant'Anastasia.
